Privacy Policy

Effective date: 6 August 2026

The short version: Life Ledger stores your data on your device by default. If you choose to create an account, your data syncs privately to your own account so you can access it across devices — it is never sold, never shared with advertisers, and never used to build a profile of you. We don’t run ads and never will.

1. What Life Ledger does

Life Ledger is a mobile app that helps you track commitments with dates attached — subscriptions, bills, insurance, licences, warranties, and similar obligations — so you’re never caught out by a renewal or expiry.

2. Data you create

When you use Life Ledger, you may create:

  • Obligations — the commitments you track, including titles, dates, amounts, and categories you choose
  • Vault Items — photos or documents you attach to an obligation, such as a policy document or receipt

This content is created and stored on your device by default. Life Ledger works fully offline — you do not need an account or an internet connection to use it.

3. Account creation and cloud sync

Creating an account is entirely optional and is only needed if you want your data to sync across multiple devices. If you create an account:

  • Your data is stored securely using Google Firebase (Firestore), under your own account, accessible only to you
  • Sync happens automatically in the background once you’re signed in
  • You can sign out or delete your account at any time, which removes your synced data from our servers

Cloud sync and exporting your data are core features and are never restricted to a paid tier — every user can access and export their own data at any time, whether or not they subscribe.

4. What we don’t collect

We deliberately collect as little as possible. Specifically, we do not include the content of what you track — obligation titles, notes, amounts, category names, or attachments — in any analytics or diagnostic data. Analytics tell us things like which screens are used or whether the app crashed; they never tell us what you’re tracking.

5. Analytics and crash reporting

We use limited, aggregated tools to keep the app reliable:

ServicePurpose
Firebase AnalyticsAggregate, anonymised usage patterns (e.g. feature usage counts) — never your obligation content
Firebase CrashlyticsCrash and error reports to help us fix bugs

We do not use advertising networks, ad attribution tools, or any service designed to build a behavioural profile of you.

6. Third-party services we rely on

Life Ledger is built on a small number of trusted infrastructure providers:

ServicePurpose
Google FirebaseAccount sign-in, cloud sync, crash reporting, analytics
RevenueCatManages subscription purchases made through the Apple App Store or Google Play

Subscription payments are handled entirely by Apple or Google — we never see or store your payment card details.

7. No selling, no advertising, no exceptions

We do not sell your data to anyone, for any reason. We do not run advertising in the app and never will. This is a permanent commitment, not a current policy that might change with growth.

8. Your control over your data

  • You can export all of your obligation data at any time, from within the app, at no cost
  • You can delete individual obligations, or your entire account, at any time
  • Deleting your account removes your synced data from our servers

9. Data storage and security

Data synced to the cloud is stored using Google Firebase infrastructure with access restricted to your authenticated account. Vault Items (attachments) are treated as our most sensitive data category and are handled accordingly.

10. Children’s privacy

Life Ledger is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

11. Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we’ll update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
