Lumière Skin
Clean Beauty, Rooted in Nature
How we approached Lumière Skin
Lumière Skin had a beautiful product range and a clear brand vision, but their online store looked like a generic template. The founder had self-built it while launching and it had never been properly designed.
Clean beauty deserves clean design. The brief was to build a site as pure and considered as the products themselves — cream, rose, and sage; Italiana serif for the brand voice; Jost for the precision of ingredient and product copy.
Deliverables
Typography: Italiana for headlines · Jost for body copy and UI text
Cream over white — always
#faf7f3 is warm and organic. Pure white would feel clinical for a brand rooted in natural ingredients — cream signals purity without sterility.
Dusty rose for emotional resonance
#d4a89a is the kind of colour that makes people feel something before they read a word. In beauty, that emotional first impression matters enormously.
Italiana for the brand voice
The refined, elegant serif feels like a luxury beauty brand without trying to mimic heritage houses. It's distinctive — theirs alone.
Sage as the "clean" signal
#8aaa84 reinforces the natural, botanical positioning every time it appears — in section backgrounds, ingredient icons, and highlights.
Ingredient-first product pages
Showcasing hero ingredients before product benefits is unusual in beauty e-commerce — it builds instant credibility with ingredient-literate customers.
Ritual language in copy
Describing a skincare routine as a "ritual" rather than a "routine" shifts the purchase from transactional to aspirational. Average order value increased.
"I had a clear vision but no idea how to make it real. Khalid captured it exactly — cleaner and more beautiful than I imagined."
