James Harrington
Executive Coaching
How we approached James Harrington
James Harrington had built a strong reputation as an executive coach but his online presence didn't match his calibre. The site he was using looked generic — a stock template that could've belonged to anyone. New prospects were arriving via referral, landing on the site, and bouncing without enquiring.
The brief was clear: create a site that communicates James's authority without being cold or corporate. Dark, premium aesthetic. Restrained use of gold as an accent. Every word on the page had to earn its place — straight to results, straight to a booking.
Deliverables
Typography: Playfair Display for headlines · Inter for body copy and UI text
Dark premium aesthetic
Deep navy backgrounds signal authority and exclusivity — the visual equivalent of a boardroom rather than a generic coaching site.
Gold accent — used sparingly
#c8a96e appears only on key highlights and CTAs. Used too often it loses meaning. Used rarely, it commands attention every time.
Playfair Display for headlines
The serif brings warmth and gravitas. Paired with Inter for body copy it balances personality with precision across every screen size.
Full-viewport portrait hero
James's headshot fills the left panel. Instant human connection before a word is read — important for trust in high-ticket coaching.
Testimonials above the fold
Social proof from named executives appears in the hero stat bar — credibility signalled before the first scroll.
Single CTA repeated three times
"Book a Discovery Call" appears in hero, mid-page, and footer. Every scroll stops at the same decision point.
"The site finally looks like the calibre of work I actually do. I've had three new retainer clients mention the website in our first call."
