Earthen Wellness Studio

How we approached Earthen Wellness Studio
Earthen Wellness Studio had a beautiful physical space and a loyal local community — but their website looked nothing like the experience they offered. A free template with stock imagery that felt corporate and cold, not earthy and welcoming.
The brief was to translate the studio's physical warmth into a digital space. Oat and cream backgrounds, clay and sage as a natural colour pairing, DM Serif Display for the editorial headlines — a site that felt like stepping into the studio before you'd even booked a class.
Deliverables
Typography: DM Serif Display for headlines · Nunito for body copy and UI text
Cream and oat as the canvas
#faf8f4 and #f5f0e8 create a layered warmth that feels like natural linen. It signals wellness and care without being clinical.
Clay as the grounding accent
#c1724f is earthy, warm, and unlike anything else in the wellness space dominated by pastels and neutrals. It grounds the design and makes it memorable.
DM Serif Display for headline warmth
The humanist serif brings character to the headlines without being decorative. It feels considered — like a hand-written studio sign.
Today's classes floating card
A floating card in the hero showing today's available classes creates immediate urgency and relevance — the most direct path from first visit to booking.
Instructor profiles with full bios
Wellness students choose their teacher as much as the class type. Prominent instructor profiles with photos and specialties drove direct booking increases.
Retreat as a separate conversion path
A dedicated retreat section with its own CTA and waitlist form treats retreat bookings as a distinct, higher-value product rather than a buried class type.
"Guests comment on the website almost as often as they comment on the studio itself. It's become a real part of the experience."
